Learn the basic combat in Lost Caverns, help Faustas set up your camp in the Sanctum, then use the gate to reach Earlwood. Prepare supplies and free inventory space before following the next quest into the forest.
1. Learn when to stop attacking
Watch an enemy finish its attack before committing to yours. Keep some stamina for a dodge or block instead of spending the whole bar on offense. Concentration is the resource used for magic; if it runs low, avoid planning your escape around another spell.
2. Build your camp in the Sanctum
Faustas asks you to clear the remains of the camp and build a tent and a small campfire. Open build mode and dismantle the ruined structures to recover materials. Place both requested structures, then return to Faustas to continue.
3. Prepare water and food
Open the small campfire and put the required ingredients into its slots. Use Droop gel for early water crafting and keep food ingredients for cooking. Check that you have actually placed the ingredients, rather than only selected a recipe.
4. Take the gate to Earlwood
After the camp objective, continue Faustas’s dialogue and use the gate to reach Earlwood. Follow the tracked quest to the village contacts and inspect your map for the next marked search area. The gate also lets you return to your camp to prepare for another trip.
5. Spend XP around a useful ability
XP is a pool you spend on attributes. Attribute investment also advances your character level toward skill points. Check an ability’s requirements and the cost of an attribute increase before spending: an expensive off-stat may be a poor first purchase. The skill tree is changing for Early Access, so use the options in your current build.
6. Make room before leaving again
Store building materials you do not need on the road, keep your next healing ingredients and compare new equipment before selling it. Separate construction supplies from other loot so you can find them quickly when you return.
